Joan Andreu Frigola and his wife embark on their journey into the world of business by running a bakery and bar in the centre of Girona. Having studied Chemical Engineering at ESADE, Joan Andreu Pont begins working in the family business. He focuses on expanding the dealership, consolidating the company and getting its financial affairs in order.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

Joan Andreu Pont marries Xita Masram\u00f3n. In terms of business, the focus moves towards product and brand diversification.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

Birth of Jan Andreu Masramon.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

N\u00e1utica Palam\u00f3s is created in association with the Alzina family following the purchase of the Colomer family share.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

A holding company is established encompassing all the business interests of the Andreu Group (Chrysler, Toyota, Citro\u00ebn, Jeep, Lancia and Alfa Romeo). Nautica Palam\u00f3s moves to its current premises.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

\"\"1996-2000<\/h6>\n

Still with Arthur Andersen, Jan Andreu moves to New York.
\nIn 1998, he begins working for Grey Advertising at their headquarters in New York.

\"\"2000-2002<\/h6>\n

Following an internal family selection process with external company advice, Jan Andreu is asked to join the family group.
\nJos\u00e9 Manuel Zugaza from Unilco and Joan Roure from Isese join the Board of Directors.
\nJan Andreu is appointed as manager of Garatge Andreu. The stock investment company, Profitalia, is created as a risk diversification instrument.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

\"\"2003<\/h6>\n

The Mont-Ras office is opened. The brokerage and business administration agency, AGA, is created.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

\"\"2004-2005<\/h6>\n

The Board decides to diversify into other business areas. The first Whotells building is purchased and the holiday apartment brand concept is developed. A formal agreement is reached with the multinational company, Muji.
\nA ten-year licencing contract is signed with Muji. The second Whotells building is purchased. A successful real estate operation results in the purchase of the current Andreu Group offices.

\"\"2006-2007<\/h6>\n

Spain’s first Muji store is opened. The third Whotells building is purchased. The Andreu Group has a landmark year with the sale of a record 6,000 cars.
\nThe second Muji store opens in Barcelona. An agreement is reached for Muji to be launched in Portugal.

\"\"2008<\/h6>\n

The Andreu Group expands to the Toyota brand, with 40 employees and three branches in the province of Girona. The first Muji store opens in Madrid.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

\"\"2009<\/h6>\n

The grupandreu.cat brand is launched. Record profits for Whotells as a result of increased tourism and with the three sites now completed. Another Muji store opens in Madrid and the brand launches in Lisbon. [\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

The Animals Observatory is launched with a view to creating a truly global children’s fashion brand. Expansion of the N\u00e1utica Palam\u00f3s facilities.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

\"\"2015<\/h6>\n

The automotive industry begins to recover in the wake of the crisis. A deal is struck for the sale of Muji and Whotells. The Animal Observatory is launched in 25 countries. N\u00e1utica Palam\u00f3s opens new premises. [\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

The Animals Observatory opens an official branch of the brand in South Korea. The N\u00e1utica Palam\u00f3s expands its facilities.[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

Opel brand is incorporated into the Andreu Automoci\u00f3n Group.\u00a0 With the acquisition of the German brand, the group becomes a distributor of 5 of the 7 brands that own the Stellantis group (Citro\u00ebn, Opel, DS, Jeep and Alfa Romeo).[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode][tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n

Funicular Films was founded in the spring of 2021. The founding partners are Aina Clotet, Jan Andreu, Marc Clotet, and Marta Bald\u00f3, bringing extensive professional experience in the film and business sectors.l[\/tt_iod_history_item_shortcode]<\/p>\n
